Live-Size Kaiju No. 8 Statue (Temporarily) Erected at Tokyo’s Tachikawa Station
Japan’s known for its punctual trains and beautiful stations. Sometimes, these stations host events that go unnoticed. One such event is the Kaiju No. 8 collaboration at Tachikawa Station on the Japan Railways Chūō Main Line.
The collaboration was announced on April 26 and runs until June 30. Masaya Fukunishi, the voice of Kafka Hibino, appeared at the station on April 27.
The highlight is a life-sized statue of Kaiju No. 8 at Tachikawa Station, unveiled when Fukunishi became the ceremonial One-Day Manager at the Kaiju No. 8 store there.
The statue was displayed from April 26 to 29. After that, it will move to different places:
- May 1 – 10: Pop Up Shop in Kotobukiya Tachikawa
- May 11 – 19: Isetan Tachikawa second floor
- May 27 – June 2: Green Springs second floor
- June 8 – June 16: Takashimaya Tachikawa S.C. first floor
Fans can enjoy life-size character panels, flags, and a virtual stamp rally. Completing the rally earns fans one of three pin badges. There’s also a photo campaign where fans can win prizes by posting photos with specific hashtags.
The collaboration involves various locations around Tachikawa Station, offering fans a chance to win prizes like stickers, themed merchandise, and figures.
